"Ahh, this little
North Shore town seems forever to be the place to visit, at least where
MauiTime readers are concerned. Living there, with its few, tiny homes
seems like a dream, but it's no big deal to drop by the town and see the
locals, hippies, Euros and surfers who do spend their days there. Paia
also offers plenty of quaint boutiques, cool cafes, some of the whitest
white sand beaches on the island and a laid-back vibe that just can't be
found anywhere else. (AP)"

You're a real peach!
This expression originated from the tradition of giving a peach to the friend you liked. Sounds peachy to me!

Vega Sport for all your adventures
I have two words for you. Vega ROCKS! I am a mountain climber, trail runner and triathlete and I use Vega Sport products to get me through my workouts and races. Performance Protein powder mixed with a banana and almond milk starts my training day. It’s not too heavy in my stomach before a muddy run or bike ride. I chase that with a little Pre-workout Energizer if I’m going for a long hard work out and need the kick of the mate and green tea powder. Afterwards I refuel with more Performance Protein in C2O coconut water to repair and build muscle tissue. I follow that with Recovery Accelerator to replace electrolytes and reduce inflammation after a hard training session. All Vega products are vegan and I like that the protein powder is pea and savi seed protein rather than soy. Other Vega products I use are the Electrolyte Hydrator, the Protein Bar and the Endurance Gel. Vega Sport uses things like dates and stevia for sweetener so nothing is too sweet and sticky. They also use real fruit for flavor and color.
I highly recommend this high quality line for all your sports nutrition needs. Check out http://www.vegasport.com/

Gluten Freedom: Italian Kale
1 bunch Lacinato/dinosaur kale, coarsely chopped, 1 clove garlic, minced, 1 Tbsp olive oil, pinch
of Italian seasoning (or basil), 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar, Salt
and ground black pepper to taste
Wash the kale thoroughly. I prefer the Lacinato kale, because it is easier to clean than the curly variety. If the stems are really thick, please remove. Coarsely chop the kale and cook in a large, covered saucepan over medium-high heat until the leaves just start to wilt. Don’t be surprised, by the disappearing kale (it will be reduced in half). Uncover the pan and stir in the garlic, herbs, olive oil and vinegar. Cook while stirring for 2 more minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Udo's Oil for Athlete's
Udo's oil changed my life as an athlete. 1 tablespoon per 50 pounds of body weight per day in my green drink and I'm good to go. It mixes easily with juice and doesn’t have an oily feel going down. It’s actually delicious and I now use it on popcorn and veggies too. It took about 4 weeks to notice a difference but at that point I realized I had lost all craving for any kind of meat, I stopped staring at the ice cream freezer deciding which pint to devour that night and I lost the need for caffeine. I used to do my green drink followed by a pot of green tea every morning. After using Udo’s Oil for awhile I had so much energy after my green drink that I didn’t even remember to make a pot of tea. Within 2 months I had lost about 10 pounds without trying and it has stayed off for nearly a year, again without trying. My energy levels are higher which helps with my training for triathlons, trail runs and mountain climbing. Udo’s oil has helped make me a stronger, fitter athlete. I absolutely love the stuff. Gluten Freedom: Italian summer
There
is a saying in Italy“a tavola non s’invecchia”, which means “at the
table you do not age”. This may be the original slow food motto. For me, it
means don’t hurry through your meals, take the time to sit down with family a
friends to truly enjoy your food. It seemed to me that July might be a perfect time
to have a leisurely Italian feast.

We all scream
. . . for Ice Cream! Did you know, the average American eats around 5 1/2 gallons of ice cream a year?
July is the National Ice Cream month because it is the month the most
ice cream is sold.
